This budget adjustment does not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. The District approved and accepted a total of $300,000 from the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) from a Tribal Gaming Grant. This funding is being used for the Flood Control District of Maricopa County’s Gila River Native Vegetation Restoration Plan & Pilot Project (C-69-14-046-G-00). In FY 2015, the District received $200,000 in revenue and only expended $62,582. For FY 2016, the District will receive $95,000 in revenue and will expend $230,000. FY 2017 will see the District receive the last $5,000 in revenue and spend the remaining $7,418 of the total grant amount of $300,000. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the revenues is not prohibited by the budget law. This budget adjustment does not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. This Agenda Item impacts all supervisorial districts. (C-69-16-018-2-00)

F-6. GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY GRANT 2017 BUDGET ADJUSTMENT Approve an increase to the Fiscal Year 2017 Flood Control (D690) Flood Control Grant Fund (989) Non Recurring Non Project (1001) expenditure budget in the amount of $8,069.00. This amount is the unexpended amount from FY2016; this agenda shifts the unexpended amount to FY2017. In October 2014, (C-69-14-046-G-00), the District was awarded $300,000 from the Gila River Indian Community for a study regarding salt cedar removal. This was a multi-year award that must be fully expended by November 2016. The District anticipated expending only $5,000 from this grant in FY 2017; however, $13,069 remained unexpended after FY 2016. This agenda item merely shifts unexpended funds that have already been awarded from FY 2016 to FY 2017 in order to fully liquidate the grant. This Agenda Item impacts Districts 4 and 5.
