F-2. IGA WITH CITY OF MESA FOR PURCHASE, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AUTOMATED FLOOD WARNING STATIONS Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) FCD 2015A017 to purchase, install and maintain fifteen (15) additional automated flood warning stations for joint use between the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) and City of Mesa (City). The IGA is funded by the District through secondary property tax monies and by the City through its General Fund monies. The District’s contribution to this program is the design, installation and perpetual maintenance of the flood warning stations and associated electronics. The purchase price of the equipment, estimated to be $124,862.00, will be paid by the District and reimbursed by the City. Installation of flood warning assemblies at additional locations in the future would require budgeting of additional funds toward the IGA by the City. The District and several cities (Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and Phoenix) have in the past shared in the funding of flood warning stations considered outside our backbone system using similar IGAs. As in this proposed IGA, each City paid for the initial equipment, with the District providing installation, long-term maintenance and data access.
