F-2. IGA WITH CITY OF BUCKEYE FOR DESIGN CONCEPT REPORT FOR THE EL RIO BUCKEYE LEVEES Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) FCD 2016A013 for the Design Concept Report for the El Rio Buckeye Levees (Project [#126]) between the City of Buckeye and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District). This IGA establishes a cost share for the Project and establishes responsibilities with respect to project design and data collection. The estimated total Project cost is $750,000; the cost share will be 50% District ($375,000) and 50% City of Buckeye ($375,000). The IGA shall become effective when signed by both parties and shall expire 5 years from the effective date or upon Project completion, whichever comes first. The District completed the El Rio Watercourse Master Plan in 2006, which identified flooding hazards along the Gila River between the SR85 Bridge and the confluence with the Agua Fria River, and recommended solutions, including the Project, to mitigate those hazards. Conceptual plans for the Project include levee segments and vegetation management, subject to revision during the engineering process. Under the terms of this proposed Agreement, the District will act as the lead agency for all Project responsibilities. This Agenda Item impacts Supervisor Districts 4 and 5. (C-69-16-048-3-00)
