BIDS AND AWARD FOR SUN CITY DRAIN – OLIVE AVENUE – FROM 103RD AVE TO 99TH AVE Authorize the advertisement of the Invitation for Bids of the Sun City Drain – Olive Avenue – from 103rd Ave to 99th Ave (Project [#337]) and the award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, if the bid is not more than ten percent (10%) over the engineer’s estimate. The Project will re-construct the 1,500 ft. long channel along the north side of Olive Ave., from 103rd Ave. to 99th Ave. The existing trapezoidal gunite lining, built in the 1960’s, is in a distressed condition and will be removed and replaced with a fiber reinforced shotcrete lining. The project improvements also include a maintenance access ramp to the channel bottom and safety railing; temporary construction perimeter fencing will be required. This channel is owned and maintained by the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (FCDMC), and the project is 100% funded by FCDMC. This Agenda Item impacts Supervisor District 4.
