82. BIDS AND AWARD FOR EAST MARICOPA FLOODWAY LOW FLOW CHANNEL Authorize the advertisement of the Invitation for Bids for the East Maricopa Floodway Low Flow Channel from Guadalupe Road to Ray Road (Project [#121]) and award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, if the bid is not more than ten percent (10%) over the engineer’s estimate. The Project will construct a small concrete low flow channel within the grass lined East Maricopa Floodway (EMF) that was constructed in the 1980’s. This segment of the EMF has an extremely low longitudinal slope, resulting in very low flow velocities and long-lasting ponding water and muddy bottom conditions. Also, complaints regarding mosquitos/vectors have been received from adjacent neighborhoods. The concrete low flow channel will eliminate most of the ponding and muddy conditions and facilitate sediment and debris removal from the EMF. The project is 100% funded by the Flood Control District of Maricopa County. This Agenda Item impacts Supervisor District 2. (C-69-21-086-X-00)
