82. BIDS AND AWARD FOR SUPERSTITION SPRINGS GOLF COURSE LAKE Authorize the advertisement of the Invitation for Bids of the Superstition Springs Golf Course Lake project and the award of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder if the bid is not more than ten percent (10%) over the engineer’s estimate. The proposed improvements at the project area include filling in the existing lake to re-establish flow through the channel, construction of a concrete low-flow channel and maintenance access ramps, redirecting an existing drainage pipe outfall further upstream, constructing shallow basins to capture rainwater, and the use of drought-tolerant native plantings. The project is intended to manage nuisance water, eliminate vector issues, restore conveyance of stormwater within the EMF, and provide a landscape treatment that is acceptable to stakeholders and the general public while increasing potential rainwater capture and minimizing District maintenance activities. The multi-benefit project will address local stakeholder concerns while implementing a sustainable and functional flood conveyance channel design. This Agenda Item impacts Supervisor District 1.
