50. AUTHORIZE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE FOR SPECIAL-USE AUTHORIZATION FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITY Approve submittal of an application to United States Forest Service for obtaining Special-Use Authorization associated with establishing wireless communication facilities on Forest Service land at Saguaro Lake. Also, authorize the County’s Director of Wireless Communication Services IT Senior Manager of Maricopa County’s Wireless Radio Department to execute and process the subject application documents on behalf of Maricopa County. As part of the County’s Radio System Upgrade Project, the subject application with the U.S. Forest Service is the first step in establishing authority to allow the County to develop wireless radio facilities on U.S. Forest Service land at Saguaro Lake. As part of the U.S. Forest Service application process, the County may be required to reimburse the U.S. Forest Service for costs the Forest Service incurs as part of research, appraisals, environmental studies, plan review, document preparation, meetings, inspections, as-built review, project close-out and other costs associated with processing the subject application. After the Forest Service completes its cost estimates under each application, subsequent Board of Supervisors agenda items will be submitted to obtain Board authorization for cost reimbursement to the U.S. Forest Service for the individual application for the subject site.
