34. 13102-ROQ, OUTSIDE LEGAL SERVICES Approve the following solicitation serial items. The action on the following items is subject to Legal Counsel's review and approval of the respective contracts and subsequent execution of contracts. Serial: 13102-ROQ Item: Outside Legal Services ($36,000,000.00 estimate / 3 Years With 3 One-Year Renewal Option Until November 30, 2016) Legal Service Providers ($36,000,000.00 estimate/three years until November 30, 2016, with three one-year renewal options) pricing agreement for private counsel to provide legal services to support the County, its officers and employees in various practice areas (includes both transactional and litigation representation). Further, authorize Office of Procurement Services to issue cancellation notices in accordance with the terms and conditions of the following legal services contract: 1. Serial 10009-S Legal Services Providers The effective date of the cancellations shall be determined by the Chief Procurement Officer, but shall be no later than February 28, 2014, so as to provide a reasonable transition to meet the needs of the County. In addition, authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to execute sole source agreement(s) upon recommendation by the county attorney or the County’s risk manager with law firms that were previously under contract serial 10009-S Legal Service Providers but will not be awarded contracts as part of this agenda for serial 13102-ROQ, outside legal services. Agreements will only be entered into after a determination has been made that continued representation is required to maintain case specific knowledge and experience on cases/matters currently assigned and is in the best interest of the County. No new or additional cases will be assigned to these firms as a result of entering into the sole source agreements. All compensation and other terms and conditions of the sole source agreement(s) shall be consistent with serial 13102-ROQ, Outside Legal Services.
