31. FEDERAL EXCISE TAX EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE Approve and authorize the Director of Equipment Services Department or their designee to sign the Federal Excise Tax Exemption Certificate form on behalf of Maricopa County. This form is provided by the contract vendor when purchasing vehicles or equipment with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 33,000 lbs. or more in accordance with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Publication 510 (Excise Tax), Chapter 6 (Retail Tax on Heavy Trucks, Trailers, and Tractors).
