A-5. INSURANCE COVERAGE AGREEMENT BETWEEN MARICOPA COUNTY AND MARICOPA COUNTY SPECIAL HEALTH CARE DISTRICT Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement to transition claims and insurance coverage and amend the intergovernmental agreement for insurance between Maricopa County Special Health Care District and Maricopa County. The County and the District entered into an Amended and Restated Intergovernmental Agreement for Insurance dated January 9, 2005, wherein the County agreed to allow the District to join in the County's self-insurance program and receive all of the benefits thereof. The District sent the County timely notice of its intention to amend the Insurance IGA and establish its own Risk Management and self-insurance program. The purpose of this Intergovernmental Agreement is to transition claims and insurance coverage and amend the Intergovernmental Agreement for Insurance and to establish duties and responsibilities of the County and the District. The parties conducted a final accounting and mutually agree that Maricopa County will pay the Maricopa County Special Health Care District an amount not-to-exceed $15,971,908. This Intergovernmental Agreement will be effective from December 4, 2012 until December 31, 2022. (C-75-13-012-3-00)
