AMENDMENT TO IGA WITH THE CITY OF PHOENIX REGARDING CAVE CREEK LANDFILL Approve Amendment No. 1 to an Intergovernmental Agreement between City of Phoenix and Maricopa County through the Risk Management in the not-to-exceed amount of $185,000. The purpose of this amendment is to construct a wall to contain an injection well and associated appurtenances on a property that is owned by the City of Phoenix. This amendment was approved by City of Phoenix on May 16, 2018, and will be effective upon Board approval. is effective from May 2, 2018 to May 2, 2048 . 85. AMENDMENT TO IGA WITH CITY OF PHOENIX FOR CAVE CREEK LANDFILL Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Amendment No. 2 to an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County for installation and operation of pipeline infrastructure to serve an injection well for the benefit of the Cave Creek Landfill. Intergovernmental Agreement No. 143720 with the City of Phoenix was approved on September 21, 2016 (C-75-17-001-3-00), and amended by Amendment No. 1 on May 23, 2018 (C-75-001-3-01). This item is located in Supervisory District 3. Amendment No. 2 to Intergovernmental Agreement No. 143720 will allow Maricopa County, at its sole cost and expense, to install and maintain pipeline infrastructure within the City of Phoenix right of way and easements upon review and approval of design plans by the City of Phoenix. Maricopa County will maintain and operate the pipeline for remediation purposes until such remediation is completed and approved by Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. The City of Phoenix will own the pipeline infrastructure immediately after it is purchased by the County and will commence operation and maintenance after it is no longer needed for remediation. This pipeline installation is necessary to conduct required groundwater remediation associated with the County’s Cave Creek Landfill. There is no financial impact as the County’s installation and maintenance of the pipeline infrastructure is a cost of the on-going environmental liability for the Cave Creek Landfill. There is no cost associated with the amendment beyond what has already been accounted for in the environmental liability. (C-75-17-001-3-02)
