110. SET PUBLIC HEARING FOR LICENSE PENALTY FEE AND LICENSE PROCESS Pursuant to A.R.S. §MC Ordinance P-13, set a public hearing for September 1, 2010 to solicit comments and consider the adoption of Amended Maricopa County Rabies/Animal Control Ordinance of November 1979, Ordinance P-13. Upon Board approval, this item will become effective September 1, 2010. The Section 3 amendments involve changes to the license penalty fees and the license process by changing the issuance of an annual tag to a permanent tag (lifetime of dog owned by one individual) which can be transferred to a new owner or the new owner can request a new permanent tag. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control implemented a monthly penalty fee August 1, 2007, as approved by the Board of Supervisors July 25, 2007. License penalty fees are generated when the license renewal period has exceeded the statutory limits. An amendment to Ordinance P-13 would align the process and the Ordinance. (C-79-11-007-L-00)
