31. DONATIONS FROM VARIOUS EMPLOYEES OF MARICOPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT Accept monetary donations from various employees of Maricopa County Department of Transportation and Flood Control District totaling $350, plus over 350 lbs of pet food and supplies. Donation revenue funds are deposited into Fund 573 as they are received. Donation funds are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitations, and therefore expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. The approval of this action requested does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) ran out of pet food at the end of July 2012 and the public response to our need was great. Pet food is a non-budgeted item. Each month, MCACC receives enough donated food and supplies from individuals and corporations to maintain the necessary requirements of each animal. Maricopa County Department of Transportation and Flood Control District employees had a food and supply drive in August to assist with MCACC’s monthly needs collecting $350 and over 350 lbs of pet food and supplies for the animals.
