5. RECOGNITION OF ALL VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR SERVICE TO MARICOPA COUNTY AND PRESENTATION RECOGNIZING SHELBY NICOLE DWYER Recognize the generosity of spirit and compassion of all the volunteers who generously give their time, their skills, and their caring to Maricopa County departments making a difference for the residents of Maricopa County. Volunteers receive no compensation, often, little recognition, and save thousands of taxpayer dollars each year to support and benefit others. We are grateful for their commitment to enhance the County’s mission. And, present an award on behalf of Shelby Nicole Dwyer for her unrelenting compassion for animals and dedication to making their world a better place. Shelby Nicole Dwyer’s life was taken March 14, 2013. Accepting the award is her mother, Kim Dwyer. Shelby Nicole Dwyer June 7, 1993 – March 14, 2013 Shelby selflessly volunteered for Maricopa County Animal Care and Control cleaning cages, walking dogs, and showing pets to potential adopters from October 2010 to March 2013. She also did volunteer work for M.A.I.N, a Maricopa County New Hope partner, assisting in the care of injured animals. (C-79-14-072-P-00)
