25. RESTRICTED DONATION FROM VIRGINIA JONTES THROUGH THE MARJORIE E. CHAPMAN MEMORIAL FUND Accept a restricted monetary donation in the amount of $423,000 from Virginia Jontes made possible by The Marjorie E. Chapman Memorial Fund through the J.P. Morgan Charitable Giving Fund administered by the National Philanthropic Trust. This donation is to support Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and to provide enrichment to the shelters for dogs and cats, at the discretion of the department. Donation revenue funds are deposited into Fund 572 as they are received. Donation funds are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation; therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. The approval of this action requested does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to ARS 42-17105. This donation is provided for the enrichment of dogs and cats in the shelters and will support personnel expenditures as well as related supplies and services. The National Philanthropic Trust stipulates that this donation may only be used for our organization’s tax exempt purposes. It may not be used to provide anyone with a private benefit or to satisfy a pre-existing pledge, and it may not be used in support of any political campaign or on behalf of any candidate for public office.
