21. NEW HOPE AGREEMENT WITH UNDERDOG RESCUE OF AZ, INC. Approve an agreement between Underdog Rescue of AZ, Inc. and Maricopa County, administered by Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to allow Underdog Rescue of AZ, Inc. to transfer animals that have been deemed eligible for the New Hope program. Maricopa County will provide a rabies vaccination, dog license tag, and new owner transfer fee within the first year of transfer for each dog three months of age or older at no cost to the Contractor. The cost for these services is $51 for each animal transferred in FY 2019 and $52 for each animal transferred thereafter. Animal Care and Control estimates 144 New Hope transfers over the term of the agreement for a total of $7,444. The term of this agreement is from the date of execution through July 31, 2021. Underdog Rescue of AZ has repeatedly failed to report all dog bites to the County and to quarantine any animal in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 11-1014 (E) and outlined under Article IV (B)(9) in the Service Contract.
