38. PETS FOR HEROES PROGRAM THROUGH MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL Approve the Pets for Heroes program to begin Labor Day, September 7, 2020. Given the critical role of our first responders, MCACC requests authorization to modify the Pet for Vets program into Pets for Heroes. With valid identification, veterans, EMT’s, paramedics, employees of local police and fire departments, RN’s and medical doctors may participate. Adoption fees will be reduced by 50% for puppies and kittens younger than five months, Shelter Super Heroes, and Fast Pass Adoptions. For other adoptable dogs and cats over five months of age, adoption fees are entirely waived. The dog licensing fee of $22 and any other service fee still apply. (C-79-21-014-X-00)
