55. KENNEL PERMIT FOR COOK’S CAVS AND LABS The Board of Supervisors approved a fee schedule effective June 1, 2018. Pursuant to A.R.S. §11-1009, any person operating a kennel shall obtain a permit issued by the Board of Supervisors for the county where the kennel is located (except if each individual dog is licensed). Animal Control has received the application and the actual cost of recovery permit fee ($350) for each kennel, and each kennel has passed an inspection by Animal Control. A person who fails to obtain a kennel permit under this section is subject to a penalty of twenty-five dollars ($25) in addition to the annual fee. Kennel permits aid in assuring dogs in kennels are properly vaccinated for rabies. The Department has not received any complaints and MCACC recommends this kennel permit be approved.
