17. EXEMPTION TO THE POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH PLAN ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM Approve an exemption to the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program (PEHPEP) requirement to delete a position being vacated as a result of employee participation in the plan. The Superior Court will need to rehire for the following position: Counselor (PCN-19852). PCN 19852 in the Superior Court was vacated as a result of the previous incumbent’s participation in the FY 2009-10 Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program (PEHPEP). Maintaining this position will allow a Court Conciliator (Counselor) to be present at that regional court location serving the population of Maricopa County that resides in the West Valley. Due to the incumbent’s retirement the department will achieve approximately $15,827 in total budgeted annualized savings for FY 2010-11. (C-80-10-021-2-00) DEPUTY COUNTY MANAGER

A-3. AMENDMENT TO EXEMPTION TO THE POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH PLAN ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM Amend the action taken on April 28, 2010 (C-80-10-021-2-00) by allowing approval to Superior Court to fill PCN 19852 at $28.46 for a savings of approximately $9,556. On April 28, 2010, agenda item C-80-10-021-2-00 approved an exemption to the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program (PEHPEP) requirement to delete PCN 19582 being vacated as a result of employee participation in the plan and thus allowing the Superior Court to fill the position at $24.79 for a savings of $15,827. The Superior Court is requesting an amendment to C-80-10-021-2-00 through Board approval to allow Superior Court to fill the position at $28.46 for a savings of approximately $9,556 and where the department will absorb the difference in savings of $6,271 in their FY2011 appropriated budget.
