21. IGA WITH ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY FOR USE OF GRADUATE STUDENT TO CONDUCT AIR SAMPLES STUDY Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Arizona Board of Regents, for and on behalf of Arizona State University (ASU) and Maricopa County through the Air Quality Department (MCAQD), in the not-to-exceed amount of $20,364. This Agreement between ASU and the MCAQD provides that each entity will furnish 50% of the funding to support a graduate student project to compare the chemical makeup of air samples collected and reported by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality with the MCAQD’s emissions inventory. This analysis will determine if the MCAQD’s inventory appropriately apportions emissions to major categories of air pollution sources. The results of this research will help the MCAQD develop more accurate and precise inventories which is critical to understanding how to achieve healthful air quality with appropriate and cost-effective emissions control strategies. This agreement is retroactively effective from August 17, 2015 until August 16, 2016. (C-85-16-001-3-00)
