19. AGREEMENT FOR DONATION FROM THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement between the Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) and the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) for ADOA to provide up to $28,000 in restricted donation funding to MCAQD for the School Outreach and Education Kids Making Sense Program and accept the funds. This Agreement will be effective upon execution and will expire on December 31, 2018. This Agreement will provide up to $28,000 in funds to support MCAQD’s Kids Making Sense Program. The purpose of the Kids Making Sense Program is to increase awareness of air quality and particle pollution issues within Maricopa County and empower students and, by extension, their families to take action to reduce air pollution and improve local air quality. The program is consistent with Maricopa County Air Quality Department’s (MCAQD) mission “to provide clean air to Maricopa County residents and visitors so they can live, work, and play in a healthy environment.” Funding provided by ADOA will be used to purchase three additional Kids Making Sense kits to bring this innovative STEM program to more Maricopa County schools. MCAQD provides all materials needed to teach the lessons at no cost to schools within the county. Each kits includes 10 AirBeam sensors, 10 Android cell phones, totes, Verizon Hotspot with 2 year data plan, office supplies and other ancillary program materials. Donation revenue funds are deposited into Fund 504 as they are received. Donation funds are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation; therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. The approval of this action requested does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to ARS 42-17105. (C-85-18-015-M-00)
