AQ-2021-003 - P-35 (FIREWORKS RESTRICTION ORDINANCE) Set a public hearing, as required by Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) § 49-479(b), for February 23, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. to solicit comments on proposed Ordinance P-35 (Fireworks Restriction Ordinance). Following the public hearing, the Board is requested to adopt the proposed ordinance. Currently, Maricopa County does not have a regulation in place to regulate the sale and use of fireworks in unincorporated areas of the county. The Maricopa County Air Quality Department is proposing to create Ordinance P-35 (Fireworks Restriction Ordinance) to regulate the sale and use of fireworks within unincorporated areas of the county following the requirements and provisions in the Arizona Revised Statutes - A.R.S. §36-1601 to A.R.S §36-1610.
