31. MOU WITH GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY, FEDERAL DIESEL EMISSIONS REDUCTION ACT STATE CLEAN DIESEL GRANT PROGRAM Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) and Grand Canyon University (GCU) for MCAQD to provide up to $169,400 in federal DERA sub-award funding to GCU for the replacement of one diesel shuttle bus. This MOU will provide up to $169,400 in funds to support the State Clean Diesel Grant Program and benefit air quality by replacing one 2007 Class 6 diesel shuttle bus with one new 2021 or newer Class 6 CNG low NOx shuttle bus. Matching funds of 65% will be provided by GCU. This agreement shall become effective upon execution by all parties and will be valid until March 31, 2025. The program is consistent with Maricopa County Air Quality Department’s (MCAQD) mission “to provide clean air to Maricopa County residents and visitors so they can live, work, and play in a healthy environment.” This project is in District 3.
