31. SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT WITH ALLIED WASTE TRANSPORTATION, INC., FEDERAL DIESEL EMISSIONS REDUCTION ACT (DERA) STATE CLEAN DIESEL GRANT PROGRAM (Supervisorial District: 3) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute a subrecipient agreement between Maricopa County and Allied Waste Transportation, Inc. to provide up to $403,920.99 in federal and state DERA sub-award funding to Allied Waste Transportation, Inc. for the replacement of one Class 8 refuse hauler. This agreement will provide up to $403,920.99 in funds to support the State Clean Diesel Grant Program and benefit air quality by replacing one 2005 diesel Class 8 refuse hauler with one 2025 zero emissions all electric Class 8 refuse hauler. Matching funds of 55% will be provided by Allied Waste Transportation, Inc. This agreement shall become effective upon execution by all parties and will be valid until September 30, 2027. The program is consistent with Maricopa County Air Quality Department’s mission “to improve the air of Maricopa County so customers, residents, and visitors can live, work, and play in a healthy environment.” This project is based in District 3, Phoenix (5353 East City North Drive) and the replacement truck will operate throughout Maricopa County.
