34. PURCHASE OF GIFT CARDS Approve the purchase of gift cards by various programs within the Department of Public Health for an array of reason on an annual basis. These gift cards will be purchased for use by program's clientele and will not benefit Maricopa County employees. On average Maricopa County Department of Public Health's programs expend close to $60,000 annually on the purchase of gift cards. A total close to $10,000 will be spent on gift cards for the remainder of FY 2010. A total amount close to $60,000 will be spent FY 2011. The purchase of gift cards is already included within each program's budget. Therefore, a future reconciliation if not required. Only grant funds will be used to purchase the gift cards, and not General or Fee Funds. Gift cards will only be purchased and distributed on grant programs where it is budgeted and deemed an allowable cost. Actual cost of gift card will be allocated to the specific program as necessary.
