48. NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION FOR TECHNICAL SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF TUBERCULOSIS EPIDEMIOLOGIC STUDIES CONSORTIUM Approve a Notice of Intent to Exercise Option Period 10 to Contract Award 200-2011-41279/0001 between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Maricopa County by and through its Department of Public Health (MCDPH), Clinical Services, to provide additional funding for research and support of the CDC’s Tuberculosis Epidemiologic Studies Consortium (TBESC) program. This work aims to improve diagnosis and treatment of Latent TB Infection (LTBI). Option year 10 increases the total funded amount of this contract by $255,502 from $2,901,616.59 to $3,157,118.59 for the performance period September 29, 2020 through September 28, 2021. Authorize the Chairman to sign the modification document related to this action. This is the final year of the 10-year term beginning September 29, 2011 and ending September 28, 2021. This grant award is reoccurring and has been awarded to the department for several years. There is no cash or in-kind match required and indirect cost is fully recoverable. In the event the grant is discontinued, ongoing cash contributions may be required as this is a mandated function. The grant award is non-competitive. There are no costs that will need to be absorbed by the department’s operating budget. The Department of Public Health’s indirect rate for FY20-21 is 18.8% Indirect costs are estimated at $35,606 and are fully recoverable. Departmental indirect rates are reestablished at the beginning of each fiscal year and the future indirect rates will be collected at the corresponding rates. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the revenues is not prohibited by the budget law. This Agreement does not alter the budget constraining expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. The overall grant budget will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate this grant through a future reconciliation. Funds for this Agreement are provided by the CDC and do not affect the County’s general fund. (C-86-12-028-3-05)
