43. AMENDMENT TO IGA WITH ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS ON BEHALF OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY SERVICES Approve a retro-active amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the Arizona Board of Regents for and on behalf of the University of Arizona (UofA), Sponsored Project Services and Maricopa County by and through its Department of Public Health (MCDPH) to provide continued funding for epidemiology services by the U of A Student Aid for Field Epidemiology Response (SAFER) team, to MCDPH. This amendment adds $170,131.00 to the budget period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 per Attachment 1A for COVID-19 disease investigation. The cumulative amount for this period will-not-exceed $230,131. The IGA term is July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2023. Effective with this amendment, U of A will begin to collect indirect cost at the rate of 25% of total expense. In addition, this amendment modifies Section II.3. and II.4. and adds part D per the Attachment 1A. This IGA is exempt from procurement procedures pursuant to Section MC1-1001 of the Maricopa County Procurement Code. Funding for this amendment is provided by the ‘Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act’ which is to end December 30, 2020. Should the CARES Act funds cease on December 30, 2020, and if alternative funds are not available, County may suspend or cancel this agreement. (C-86-18-071-3-03)
