41. GRANT AWARD FROM ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY FOR A 'HEALTHY URBAN ENVIRONMENTS PROJECT Approve the acceptance of grant funds from ASU for the Healthy Urban Environments (HUE) community projects. The award is in the not-to-exceed amount of $50,000 for the one (1) year project period to begin upon contract signature by both parties. Authorize the Board Chairman to sign all documents related to these grant funds. This was a competitive opportunity with no cash or in-kind match required. The award is not expected to be on-going. The funds do not address a mandated service but provide a benefit to our citizens by recognizing the vulnerability of some manufactured home residents to climate and heat related morbidity. Should the grant cease, on-going contributions will not be required. The grant allows for the full indirect rate of 19.2%. Indirect cost is estimated to be $8,053 all of which is recoverable. All program cost are allocated to the grant so there should not be additional burden on the department’s operating budget. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. (C-86-20-040-3-00)
