44. GRANT AWARD FROM NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY & CITY HEALTH OFFICIALS (NACCHO) – ‘LOCAL INNOVATIONS IN CONGENITAL SYPHILIS PREVENTION’ Approve the acceptance of grant funds from NACCHO in the not-to-exceed amount of $25,000 for the project purpose of identifying innovations and improvements in congenital syphilis prevention. Authorize the Board Chairman to sign all documents related to these grant funds, as applicable. The award period is effective for 12 months following full execution. The grant is a part of the “Identifying Promising Practices for Congenital Syphilis Prevention” project. It was a competitive award opportunity. There is no cash or in-kind match required. This is not a mandated portion of STD services but provides a benefit to our citizens by working to contain and prevent cases of congenital syphilis. Should the grant cease, on-going contributions should not be required. The grant allows for the full indirect rate of 19.2%. Indirect cost is estimated to be $4,027.00 all of which is recoverable. All program cost are allocated to the grant so there will not be additional burden on the department’s operating budget. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by the budget law. Approval of this action does not alter the budget constraining the expenditure of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. (C-86-20-045-3-00)
