GRANT AWARD FROM ARIZONA ASTHMA COALITON (AAC) FOR THE SCHOOL SURVEILLANCE MEDICATION PROGRAM Approve the acceptance of grant funds from AAC the not-to-exceed amount of $17,000 for a 3-year project period to begin upon contract signature. Authorize the Board Chairman to sign all documents related to these funds. AAC agrees to compensate MCDPH for the purpose of providing school stock albuterol inhalers and LiteAire® spacers to schools who meet the MCDPH School Surveillance Medication Program (SSMP). This was a non-competitive opportunity with no cash or in-kind match required. The award is not expected to be on-going. The funds do not address a mandated service but provide a benefit to our citizens through the provision of school asthma medication. Should the grant cease, on-going contributions will not be required. The grant allows for an indirect rate of 10%. Indirect cost is estimated to be $2,905 of which $1,545 is recoverable and $1,360 is not recoverable. Program costs not allocated to the grant will be absorbed be the Departments indirect cost pool. 102. GRANT AWARD FROM ARIZONA ASTHMA COALITION THE SCHOOL SURVEILLANCE MEDICATION PROGRAM Approve and accept Amendment 1 for additional funds from Arizona Asthma Coalition (AAC). The purpose of this expansion is to support MCDPH for the purpose of providing school stock albuterol inhalers and LiteAire ® spacers to Roosevelt School District who has met the MCDPH School Surveillance Medication Program (SSMP). The budget period is July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, and the funding is in not-to-exceed amount of $2,500.00. This was a non-competitive opportunity with no cash or in-kind match required. The award is not expected to be on-going. The grant funds do not address a mandated service but provide a benefit to our citizens through the provision of school asthma medication. Should the grant cease, on-going contributions will not be required. This Grant deviates from County Policy A2505 and does not allow for full indirect cost reimbursement, but a maximum of 10% indirect cost reimbursement as delegated in the Grant Agreement. MCDPH indirect rate for FY23 is 17.24%. Full indirect costs are estimated at $391.82 of which $227.27 is recoverable and $164.55 is unrecoverable. Program costs not covered by the grant will be subsidized by the MCDPH indirect cost pool. Departmental indirect rates are re-established at the beginning of each fiscal year and the future indirect rates will be collected at the corresponding rates. (C-86-21-008-X-01)
