109. APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT FOR ONE-TIME FUNDING FOR TENANT IMPROVEMENTS FOR MARICOPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH A Lease Agreement is currently being negotiated with Valleywise Health for approximately 3546 square feet of office space located at the Valleywise Comprehensive Health Center – Peoria, located at 8088 W Whitney Drive, Peoria AZ 85345. Opening of this location is anticipated for January 2021. Pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17106(B), approve an appropriation adjustment for tenant improvements at the above location resulting in a net increase to expenditure authority of $650,000 in FY 2021 to Public Health (D860) Public Health Fee Fund (265) Non-Recurring Non-Project (NRNP). Also, decrease the expenditure authority for the Non-Departmental (D470) Non-Departmental Grants Fund (249) Non-Recurring Non-Project (NRNP) Unassigned Contingency line in the amount of $650,000. These actions will have a County-wide net impact of zero and they do not alter the budget constraining expenditure of local revenue duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105 A total remodel of the existing space, currently a shell within the larger health center, is planned and will be specific to the needs of Maricopa County’s Office of Vital Registration (OVR) and Women’s, Infants and Children (WIC). OVR and WIC services will be accessible to patients coming to the health center as well as to the general public. Joint services in this location should greatly benefit county programs as the health center offers services such as urgent care, pediatrics and family medicine to a similar population facilitating a wrap-around of many needed services. WIC will be closing its Thunderbird location and moving to this space, resulting in a substantial savings on monthly rent expense. No funds will be expended until the lease is approved and executed by the Board of Supervisors. This will be a new public facing Office of Vital Registration location including 5 full-service customer/stakeholder windows projected to serve thousands monthly. This will also include a fully functioning Women, Infants and Children clinic with the potential caseload of over 5,000 women, infants and children served per month. (C-86-21-099-X-00)
