56. OPIO ID SETTLEMENT FUND EXPENDITURE APPROVAL Approve the use of Public Health Opioid Settlement Funds by Correctional Health Services. The total not-to-exceed amount of $1,500,000 will be used to support the Substance Misuse Treatment Program in the following manner: 1. Offer buprenorphine initiation and maintenance treatment to patients with Opioid Use Disorder and provide a bridge supply upon patient release. a. Sublocade – REMS drug, must tolerate 7 days 8-24mg sublingual Subutex first. i. ~1600/month/patient, 3/1/2022 – 9/21/2022 there were a total of 2,424 orders for 607 distinct patients. 2. Staff for substance misuse treatment program. a. Addictionologists/MRT Psychiatrist i. Leaders of the Addictions teams; one for each end of the week; provide direct services. b. Midlevel Providers/ MRT Nurse Practitioner i. Each provider can oversee 100 patients; can be regular providers working under supervision of the Addictionologists; work out of ITR seeing patients identified with substance abuse disorders but will also go to other jails for follow ups as indicated.
