66. EXEMPTION TO POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH PLAN ENHANCEMENT (RETIREMENT) PROGRAM FOR EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT POSITION Approve the creation of a classified position (Executive Assistant) in Environmental Services. This position request is necessary due to the current Executive Assistant's participation in the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement (Retirement) Program (PEHPEP) which requires that the position (#8208) be eliminated. Creation of a new position is necessary to support administrative operations and continuity. Position #8208, in the Environmental Services Department, was inactivated due to the incumbent’s participation in the 2010 Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program. The position attributes are as follows: MRT: Executive Assistant Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $22.13 Due to the nature of this position, the Environmental Services Department feels it necessary to replace position #8208 with a new position. The new position’s attributes will be as follows: MRT: Executive Assistant Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $19.91 The Environmental Services Department will achieve savings through hiring a new employee at a lower rate of pay than the retiring employee. This will result in $4,603.04 annual savings as required under the 2010 Retirement Health Enhancement Program. (C-88-10-007-M-00)
