This cooperative agreement is funded by a grant from the FDA (award number 1U18FD005592-01). The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to advance conformance with the voluntary national retail food regulatory program standards. This cooperative agreement will serve in assessing foodborne illness risk factors in Maricopa County and also provide permitted food operations with educational strategies to reduce the occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors. The cooperative agreement is effective from September 10, 2015 until June 30, 2020, while the budget agreement is effective from September 10, 2015 until June 30, 2016, in the amount of $67,198. Future project budgets are subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory progress of the project. The current indirect cost rate for the Maricopa County Environmental Services Department is 7.6%. The total grant award is $340,149 with full allowable indirect charges of $24,025.39. Departmental indirect rates are reestablished at the beginning of each fiscal year and future indirect costs will be collected at the corresponding rates. Upon receipt of funds and pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17106(B), approve revenue and expenditure authority appropriation adjustments to the Environmental Services Department (880) Environmental Services Grants Fund (505) associated with this agreement in an amount not to exceed $67,198 for FY 2016. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore expenditure of the funds are not prohibited by the budget law. This budget adjustment does not alter the budget constraining expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. (C-88-16-004-G-00)
