72. MARICOPA COUNTY TRANSFER STATION FEE REVISIONS (ES-2019-001) Pursuant to A.R.S. §11-251.08, 11-251.13, and 36-184(B)(5), set a public hearing for July 31, 2019 to solicit comments and consider the adoption of proposed revisions to the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code to incorporate phased transfer station fee increases. Upon Board approval of this item, the fee increases will become effective 07/31/2019 and will occur in two phases. The first phase will begin 07/31/2019 and the second phase will begin 07/31/2020. The Maricopa County Board of Health (BOH) reviewed and discussed proposed revisions to transfer station fees (EROP Case ES-2019-001/Maricopa County Transfer Station Fee Revisions) at a public meeting held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Board of Supervisors Conference Room, 301 West Jefferson Avenue, 10th Floor, Phoenix, Arizona 85003. The attached Report to the BOH includes the fee changes and is also accessible at https://www.maricopa.gov/3563/Active-Regulatory-Process. Transfer station operational expenses have increased as a result of additional citizen demand, which in turn has caused a revenue deficit for Maricopa County Waste Resources and Recycling (MCWRR). To maintain compliance with A.R.S § 49-741, which requires providing or ensuring solid waste public facility services are available for citizens, MCWRR fee changes are proposed. (C-88-19-009-2-00)
