98. CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK CONTRACT WITH BUILDERS GUILD, INC. FOR ESTRELLA JAIL MECHANICAL. ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING REFURBISHMENT PROJECT Approve a Contract between Builders Guild, Inc. and Maricopa County through the Facilities Management Department, in the not-to-exceed amount of $1,423,929. The purpose of this Contract is to furnish all labor, materials and incidentals as required to complete the Estrella Jail Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Refurbishment Project (1403-10-163) per the construction documents prepared by the engineer and industry standards. This Contract is effective from March 18, 2010 until January 31, 2011. On June 22, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved the Estrella Jail Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Refurbishment Project for inclusion in the Facilities Management Department Major Maintenance Program for fiscal year 2010. This was originally scheduled as four separate projects that were combined to create efficiencies in procurement and implementation, and to gain economies of scale for general conditions. The project includes the following: 1. Refurbishing 12 air wash units 2. Replacement of one electrical switch gear 3. Replacement of plumbing control valves and installation of the I-Con system in Dorms E - M and all four towers. The project includes work on the handicapped showers in dorms E - H, as well. This project is located in District 5 and was procured in accordance with all Arizona Statutes and the Maricopa County Procurement Code, Article 5. (C-91-10-122-5-00)
