A-3. EXEMPTION TO POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH ENHANCEMENT (RETIREMENT) PROGRAM Approve the creation of one classified position (Executive Assistant) in Public Works/Transportation. This position request is necessary due to the participation of the Executive Assistant in the Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement (Retirement) Program (PEHPEP) which requires that the position (#3165) be eliminated. Creation of the new position is necessary to support business operations and continuity. Position #3165, in the Public Works/Transportation Department, was inactivated due to the incumbent’s participation in the 2010 Post Employment Health Plan Enhancement Program. The position attributes for the position is as follows: MRT: Executive Assistant Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $26.40 Due to the nature of this position, Public Works/Transportation has determined it necessary to replace position #3165 with a new position. The new position's attributes will be as follows: MRT: Executive Assistant Status: Classified Budgeted Rate: $21.45 Public Works/Transportation will achieve savings through hiring new employees at a lower rate of pay than the retiring employee. This will result in $10,296 annual savings for the position as required under the 2010 Retirement Health Enhancement Program. (C-91-10-125-M-00)
