101. BID AND AWARD FOR ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS TO ELLSWORTH ROAD-HUNT HIGHWAY TO CLOUD ROAD Approve the solicitation of bids for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s Ellsworth Road, Hunt Highway to Cloud Road Improvements, County Arterials (ARTS) Project No. T178. Award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, provided that the lowest responsive bidder does not exceed the engineer’s estimate by ten percent. Currently the Ellsworth Road is a two lane undivided rural arterial road extended from Hunt Highway to Cloud Road. The purpose of this project is to widen the Ellsworth Road and the intersection at Ellsworth Road and Hunt Highway to its ultimate improvement. This improvement will require the following work: Widening the existing roadway to three through lanes in each direction with a raised median, bike lanes, street lights, traffic signals, new and improved irrigation, water, and sewer lines. Widening the existing intersection at the Hunt Highway and Ellsworth Road to six through lanes, right turns, dual left turns, and installing new signals. Constructing two new box culverts and extending the existing three box culverts at the intersection. Supervisory District No. 1 (C-91-10-126-5-00)
