75. CONTRACT WITH KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR NORTHERN PARKWAY FEASIBILITY STUDY Approve Contract No. 2010-004, with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $405,272.00 for Maricopa County Department of Transportation, Transportation Planning (TPLN) Project, Sub-Project T005, Northern Parkway Corridor Feasibility Study: Tonopah Parkway to Turner Parkway. The Contract completion date shall be 427 days after the Notice to Proceed has been issued. Fiscal year 2010-11 expenditures are contingent upon the Board of Supervisors approving the recommended FY 2010-11 budget. Under the direction of the MCDOT Project Manager, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. will prepare a Corridor Feasibility Study for approximately 18 miles of the proposed Northern Parkway (from Turner Parkway to Tonopah Parkway). This study shall include evaluation of the study area, conceptual alternative alignments, preferred logical alignment and footprint and definitions of the characteristics of the preferred alignment in enough detail to minimize potential fatal flaws. This study is the first step in providing governing bodies defensible information required for the preservation of a continuous corridor right-of-way as development encroaches to northwestern Maricopa County.
