60. IGA WITH THE CITY OF PEORIA FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PEORIA AVENUE BRIDGE OVER NEW RIVER Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Maricopa County and the City of Peoria for the Improvements to the Peoria Avenue Bridge over New River. The City will act as the lead agency for this project, with the County financially contributing 50% of the repair costs, but not-to-exceed $120,000.00. Funding is available in the Public Works (910) Transportation Capital Projects Fund (234) Bridge Preservation (BRIG) Project bin. Sub-Project T325, Peoria Ave/New River Bridge Repairs, will be used to identify the expenditures related to this project. The Peoria Avenue Bridge at New River was constructed in 1970. The bridge is a 4 span – Type III AASHTO Girder Bridge. The bridge structure was annexed by the City of Peoria in April, 2007. At the time of the annexation, the County Bridge Engineer had identified deficiencies in the bridge bearing pads. The County is willing to financially assist the City in rectifying the noted deficiencies identified back in 2007 by the County Bridge Engineer as an exceptional circumstance of work that was not completed prior to the annexation of the bridge.
