62. TRAFFIC CONTROL CHANGES ON SOUTHERN AVENUE Approve a change in traffic controls (Speed Limits) on unincorporated right-of-way at the following location: A 35 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Southern Avenue from 311th Avenue to 1/4 mile east of Johnson Road. (This partially rescinds the 50 MPH speed limit zone dated December 31, 1973). A 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE (from a 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT ZONE) on Southern Avenue from 1/4 mile east of Johnson Road to 1/2 mile east of Johnson Road. (This partially rescinds the 50 MPH speed limit zone dated December 31, 1973). This agenda item is the result of completion of a Transportation Safety Improvement Project to reduce speeds in areas that have changed from rural to urban.
