59. ROAD PROJECT AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOREST SERVICE, TONTO NATIONAL FOREST Approve the Road Project Agreement between Maricopa County Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service, Tonto National Forest for the Erosion Repair on Forest Road #19 (South Bartlett Dam Road) from Bartlett Lake Marina to the Riverside Campground. The Tonto National Forest will reimburse the County for all costs associated with this project at a total cost not-to-exceed $152,066. This agreement allows for the parties to cooperate in the planning, survey, design, construction, reconstruction, improvement, and maintenance of certain forest roads. The Coop Agreement allows for specific Project Agreements between the parties with the intent of completing work as expeditiously as available funds or work opportunities allow. The purpose of this Project Agreement is to document the Parties cooperation in the repair of eroded areas and performance of heavy maintenance along the segment of Forest Road 19 from Bartlett Lake Marina to the Riverside Campground. Intense and unusual rainfall events have caused roadway and embankment erosion to occur, so specific area repair and improvements at various locations are necessary.
