72. IGA WITH THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT SOUTHERN AVENUE AND MERIDIAN ROAD Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Maricopa County, acting through the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (County) and the City of Apache Junction (City) for the intersection improvements at Southern Avenue and Meridian Road. The estimated total cost of the Project is $2,700,000. The County’s cost share responsibility is $2,000,000. Funds will be available in the Public Works (910) Transportation Capital Projects Fund (234) Partnership Support (PSUP) Project. Sub-Project T315, Southern Avenue and Meridian Intersection Improvements, will be used to account for the expenditures on this Project. A project scoping study in April 2009 determined that this intersection meets warrants for the installation of a traffic signal. This Project will provide for intersection improvements which will include the installation of a traffic signal and drainage mitigation to reduce the amount of roadway runoff contributed to the wash north of the intersection.
