40. IGA WITH THE TOWN OF FOUNTAIN HILLS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SHEA BOULEVARD FROM THE FOUNTAIN HILLS TOWN LIMITS TO BEELINE HIGHWAY (SR87) Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Maricopa County, acting through the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (County) and the Town of Fountain Hills (Fountain Hills) for the improvements to Shea Boulevard from the Fountain Hills Town Limits to Beeline Highway (SR87). The County’s cost share responsibility is $152,400. Funds are budgeted in the Public Works (910) Transportation Capital Projects Fund (234) Partnership Support (PSUP) Project, Sub-Project T003, Special Projects. This item was recommended by the Maricopa County Transportation Advisory Board on September 21, 2010 for inclusion in the FY2011 Transportation Advisory Board Special Project Fund (TAB-SPF). The Project is located in the Town of Fountain Hills and the purpose is to provide a rubberized asphalt overlay on Shea Boulevard ending at the east boundary of Fountain Hills. As part of the TAB-SPF program, the overlay improvements will be extended to include Shea Boulevard from the southeast boundary of Fountain Hills to the Beeline Highway. The total estimated cost of the project is $2.4 million. The County’s cost share responsibility is $152,400. Fountain Hills is responsible for all remaining costs of the project.
