47. GRANT FROM MARICOPA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR STREET SWEEPER AND ADDITION TO FLEET Authorize the acceptance of grant funds from the Maricopa Association of Governments in the amount of $165,025 for FY 2011. Funding is for the purchase of a PM-10 certified street sweeper. Approve the one-time addition of the street sweeper to the County fleet for the Transportation Department and authorize the exception to the capital purchasing freeze. The street sweeper will be used by Transportation Operations to sweep and maintain County roadways for the improvement of air quality and the overall safety of the traveling public. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditure of the funds is not prohibited by the budget law. The approval of this action requested does not alter the budget constraining the expenditures of local revenues duly adopted by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17105. Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has agreed to provide $64,975 in local (HURF) match funding for the street sweeper, which is expected to cost approximately $230,000. MCDOT's indirect cost rate of 12.2% is unrecoverable. The total grant amount is for capital expenditures which are not subject to indirect cost recovery. Supervisory Districts: All (C-91-11-137-M-00)
