ACCEPT IN FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY FUNDING REIMBURSEMENTS Authorize the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) to: (1) accept up to $756,129 in federal-aid highway funding reimbursements and expend grant funds up to the total project cost amount for Intelligent Transportation System (INTL) Project, Sub-Project T292, Olive Avenue, Litchfield Road to SR101L, ITS (the Olive Avenue ITS project); and (2) reimburse the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for $52,513.52 in federal-aid highway funding inadvertently paid to MCDOT in FY 2013 and FY 2014 for the same Olive Avenue ITS project. On July 6, 2011, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors authorized MCDOT (under agenda item C-91-11-242-M-00) to accept $504,086 in federal-aid highway funding reimbursements and expend grant funds up to the total project cost amount for Intelligent Transportation System (INTL) Project, Sub-Project T292, Olive Avenue, Litchfield Road to SR101L, ITS (the Olive Avenue ITS project). An additional $252,043 was subsequently allocated for this project by the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), for a total authorized federal-aid amount of $756,129. This project is substantially complete, with some accounting activities to be completed. The current total cost of the project is $1,021,830.44, with up to $756,129 provided through federal-aid highway funding and the remainder from MCDOT Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) monies. In the process of preparing to officially close this project out with ADOT, it has been determined that ADOT has inadvertently reimbursed MCDOT a total of $52,513.52 in federal-aid highway funding for MCDOT expenses that were not eligible for federal reimbursement. An invoice is forthcoming from ADOT to request the repayment. Notwithstanding this repayment, MCDOT is continuing to work with ADOT toward receipt of the full amount of eligible reimbursements up to the maximum allowable amount. The goal is to achieve final accounting and project closeout in FY 2014. Supervisory District No. 4 (C-64-14-152-M-00)
