5. REWARD AND RECOGNITION OF LYNNE HILLIARD Recognition of Lynne Hilliard, Intergovernmental Coordinator, Maricopa County Department of Transportation, for her August 9, 2011 receipt of the American Public Works Association (Arizona Chapter) Award of Merit for 2011. Arizona APWA is a State Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA); a non-profit educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing professional excellence and public awareness through education, advocacy, knowledge, and much more. There are 64 U.S. Chapters (APWA), and chapters in Canada (CPWA) and other International Countries. Each year, Arizona APWA presents achievement awards at its annual meeting. One of the awards is the Award of Merit. The individual Award of Merit recognizes an agency employee at the operational level who performs in an exceptionally efficient and/or innovative manner. This is the top award, at the state level, in the non-managerial category. We wish to hereby request Board of Supervisors recognition of Lynne Hilliard, Intergovernmental Coordinator at the Maricopa County Department of Transportation, for her receipt of the American Public Works Association (Arizona Chapter) Award of Merit for 2011.
