27. IGA WITH CITY OF PEORIA FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SOUTH HALF OF BEARDSLEY ROAD FROM LAKE PLEASANT ROAD TO 99TH AVENUE Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement (Agreement) between Maricopa County (County) and the City of Peoria (City) for Improvements to the south half of Beardsley Road from Lake Pleasant Road to 99th Avenue and the intersection of Lake Pleasant Road and Beardsley Road. The purpose of this agreement is to identify and define the responsibilities of the County and City for the improvements to 99th Avenue and Beardsley Road. The Project consists of widening the roadway to include two lanes in each direction, a two-way left-turn lane, and bike lanes. The Project will also include the addition of streetlights, landscaping, sidewalks, pavement reconstruction, storm drain improvements, a westbound to northbound right-turn lane, a second southbound to eastbound left turn lane, and traffic signal updates. The City shall annex the portions of the roadway within the intersection upon completion of the Project. Maricopa County residents will benefit from this improvement by the City annexation of the right-of-way ending the County maintenance responsibility of this section of roadway. The County, through this agreement, will provide no-cost permits to the City. The City is the lead agency for all aspects of the Project and they are responsible for 100% of the costs.
