54. MARICOPA COUNTY 2027-2028 WIOA LOCAL PLAN MODIFICATION FOR MARICOPA COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (Supervisory District: All) Approval of the following actions regarding the Maricopa County Workforce Development Board (MCWDB) as set forth below: 1. Approve the Maricopa County Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) 2027-2028 Local Area Plan Modifications. Maricopa County, excluding the City of Phoenix, is the Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) ARIZONA@WORK – Maricopa County, the workforce network of business and employment-related service providers for Maricopa County. In accordance with WIOA, the 2027-2028 Local Area Plan Modifications must be approved by the Chief Elected Officials. The Maricopa County 2027-2028 Local Area Plan Modification is a modification to the 2025-2028 Local Area Plan for the period of January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2028. The Maricopa County Local Area Plan must be in place reflecting the current and projected needs of the workforce system consistent with the State plan. The Maricopa County 2027-2028 WIOA Local Area Plan Modifications will be submitted to the Office of Economic Opportunity to incorporate into the State Plan. The MCWDB is established and receives its authority in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which was signed into law on July 22, 2014, as Public Law 113-128. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS) shall have final authority. (C-94-27-004-X-00)
