56. GRANT FUNDS FOR 2016 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT Approve the application , and if granted, accept the award for grant funding from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program FY2016 Local Solicitation (2016-H3405-AZ-DJ) in the total amount of $1,064,609. Because disparity exists between the County and the Cities of Phoenix and Mesa, an IGA is required to reallocate funds between the parties. Approve the an IGA between the County and the Cities of Phoenix and Mesa allocating the funds as follows: the $135,000 will be distributed to Mesa, $675,000 will be awarded to the City of Phoenix and Maricopa County will retain $235,609.
